Ben MoonBen started volunteering through IVS as a student in 1998, working on a project with Traveller children in Ireland. Unable to enjoy a 'normal' holiday since, he's taken part in over a dozen further workcamps across three continents. No two have been alike, but all have been memorable experiences. He believes that volunteering through IVS offers great opportunities for personal and social development, and allows people to gain a bit of perspective of life too often lacking from being trapped in routines. After a hiatus of 4 of 5 years due to professional commitments (working as a water resources specialist) Ben is making more time for volunteering again and has rejoined the IVS board and looks forward to more active contribution to the SCI movement! |

Bob ThomasBob graduated from Cambridge University in 2010 with a degree in Philosophy and Business. He started work for a strategic consultancy in London in September 2010, where he performs operational and financial research and analysis. Bob thinks that helping people working together is a good way to meet them, get to know them, and have fun. The empowering quality of working for change led him to volunteering and IVS in 2009, when he participated in a workcamp in Bethlehem. He looks forward to many more years working with IVS, its partners and its excellent volunteers. |

Richard WilliamsRichard first became actively involved in IVS as a member of a local group. He has participated in international voluntary projects in the British Isles, Europe and further afield. He has served on IVS Committees in southern England, Scotland, at national level, and internationally through SCI. He was IVS Hon Treasurer 2008-Oct 2009. Whilst 'Action not Words' is a good motto to follow, he believes that amongst the many words expressed amongst Trustees is a duty which includes ensuring that there are as many opportunities as possible, in a variety of ways, for people to volunteer for active community service with IVS. He believes that ideally people's first involvement with IVS should be as a volunteer. |
